The first release on Swiss label Hummingbird comes from Germany’s Simon Li, who presents two tech house cuts for his 50-80 EP. Based in Konstanz, a city most likely unknown for being home base for some of Germany’s best export DJs, guys such as Patrick Zigon, Reboot and now Simon Li. Simon has been producing music for some years now, having previously remixed for the likes of Patrick Zigon, Dan Berkson, James What and Reboot, he has steadily build up his experience and his sound has a real finesse and maturity to its groove.

The first track by Simon is titled Hong Kong and comes with a remix by Canadian, Akufen. Akufen makes a return to the stage with a broken down disco funk remix, which is already causing a stir among the early promo DJ mail outs. On the b-side is a track by Simon called Dead For Life and it comes with a remix from Argentinean and Harry Klein roster artist, Violett. Violett provides a deep techy hypnotic remix with dreamy synth stabs and rolling percussion… the early hours roll on.

2011 see the debut of the first release on Edgar Jack’s label, Hummingbird. Following this will be more EPs in the same vain from the labels talented artist roster and music tastemakers.
